Eyes On China

中国从改革开放起发生了翻天覆地的变化，用“一天一个样”并不为过。在这个日新月异的国度，人们的政治、经济、文化生活也具有当下特色：一些集体意识中隐含的集体无意识，旧文化习惯与新生活的冲突，经济高速发展带来的社会问题……我生活在这个国度，随时记录自己认为能窥见这个社会当下特色的瞬间。

China has changed day by day since the reform and opening-up policy. people’s life have contemporary characteristics in political, economic and cultural aspects, such as collective unconsciousness hiding in collective consciousness, conflicts between contemporary and traditional lifestyle, social problems because of the development. I live in this country, capturing the moment which I think can catch a glimpse of contemporary characteristics.

2017年10月4日，市民聚集在天安门广场等待观看降旗仪式。 People gathered in the Tian’an men Square, waiting for flag lowering ceremony on Oct. 4th, 2017. National day is one of China’s seven-day “golden week vacation”. Waiting for flag raising or lowering ceremony in Tian’an men Square is a must-option for those who travel to Beijing. 2016年12月14日，游客在北京天安门景区游览。当天是重度雾霾天。 Tourists in the Tian’an men on Dec. 14th, 2016 which was a heavy haze day. 2016年5月1日，跟团游的游客在杭州西湖游览。 Tourists at the West Lake in Hangzhou on May 1st, 2016. The holiday of labors day is one of China’s seven-day “golden week vacation”. Package tour is popular in China. People wear different colors of hats to distinguish tourist groups. 2016年11月19日，“中国尊”的建筑工人中午休息时间在工地门口街道上购买午餐。Construction workers of the CITIC Tower bought lunch on the road. The 528-meter-high CITIC Tower has an estimated investment of 300 million yuan. The construction started in July， 2017 and may complete in October, 2018. It will be the first tall in Beijing and Third tall in the world. The place where CITIC Tower lies is the CBD of Beijing which house price is over 100,000 per square meter while construction workers’  annual salary can’t afford 1 square meter. 2017年8月6日，北京一处链家房产中介的员工上班前列队起誓。 Staffs of the Lianjia, a house renting and selling company, took oaths before work in Beijing on Aug. 6th, 2017. There are lots of house renting and selling company in China’s big cities. Oaths that staffs take are mainly some slogans like “I’m the best” or “I definitely can”. 2017年2月23日，中国中央电视台。 The new office building of the China Central Television (CCTV). Feb. 23rd, 2017. 2019年9月2日，北京天安门广场的灯柱。 A street lamp at Tian’anmen Square in Beijing, Sept. 2, 2019. 2018年3月19日，三名平安志愿者在北京前门附近巡逻。 Three volunteers for safety patrolled at the Qianmen area in Beijing on Mar. 19th, 2018 when National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference was holding. 2017年2月23日，北京国贸CBD工地外一景 A view out of a construction site of Beijing’s CBD area on Feb. 23rd, 2018. 2017年2月23日，一个建筑工人在北京国贸CBD工地外午休 。 A constructor had a rest during the noon in a construction site of Beijing’s CBD area on Feb. 23rd, 2018. 2016年5月11日，工人在杭州玉古路前割草。2016年G20峰会在杭州举办，杭州政府进行了大规模的城市改造工程：打碎并重铺众多道路，为城市众多旧房子粉刷外墙等。 Works mowed at Yugu Road in Hangzhou on May 11th, 2016. The G20 summit was held in Hangzhou that year. The government of Hangzhou spent a lot to renew the city such as cracked and repaved roads and whitewashed almost all old buildings. 2017年2月15日，许多摄影爱好者在杭州植物园拍摄模特。 Many shutterbugs were taking photos at the arboretum in Hangzhou on Feb. 15th, 2017. 2017年2月3日，老年人在成都人民公园唱歌跳舞。人民公园是位于成都市中心的公园，每天都有众多中老年市民在里面放声高歌和舞蹈，因为噪音过大多次整改，但每次都小声几天又恢复原样 Senior people were singing and dancing at the Renmin Park in Chengdu on Feb. 3rd, 2017. The Renmin Park located in central Chengdu. Many middle aged and elderly people sing loudly in the park everyday, making noise pollution. It has been rectified many times, however only last for few days. 2018年2月17日，市民在地坛公园参加庙会 。 People were in the Temple Fair at the Ditan Park in Beijing on Feb. 17th, 2018. The Temple Fair is one of the must-potions in the Spring Festival. During the Temple Fair, venders sale specialties nationwide which are seemingly just produced locally or set interactive games. Though Temple Fairs in every province are similar and stay the same every year, they’re still popular every year. 2017年4月8日在四川大邑县拍摄的9D超级动感电影院 。 A 9D Super Motive Animating Cinema in Dayi County, Sichuan, on Apr. 8th, 2017. 2017年2月3日，市民在成都人民公园玩四川特色长牌。 People were playing a special kind of card which mainly played in Sichuan at the Renmin Park on Feb. 3rd, 2017. 2017年2月1日，游客在四川老君山坐滑竿。 Tourist sat in a palanquin-like thing called Huagan which used mostly in tourist sites for those who don't want to climb the mountain at the Laojun Mountain in Sichuan on Feb. 1st 2017. 2016年2月24日，市民在杭州宝石山上攀岩。如今，许多热门自然景区都“可远观不可亵玩”。 People climbed the rock of the Baoshi Mountain which located near the West Lake in Hangzhou. Nowadays, many tourist sites are only allowed to watch in distance. 2016年2月1日，游客在四川窦湍山观看特技表演。相比以前，现在的特技演员多了保险装置来保护自己生命。 Tourists were seeing stunt at the Doutuan Mountain in Sichuan on Feb. 1st, 2016. The performer now has safety rope to avoid to die which hasn’t before. 2017年2月5日，众多市民在兴隆湖附近钓鱼。兴隆湖是成都规划的新城市中心，离老城市中心30余公里，彼时房价已经突破1万元每平方米，并且只有持有天府新区户口的市民可以购买。 People were fishing near the Xinglong Lake in Chengdu on Feb. 5th, 2017. Xinglong Lake, where 30 more kilometers away from the center of Chengdu city, is a landmark which represent the central of the new Chengdu city. The price of apartment there in 2017 has already over 10,000 yuan per square meter, and only those whose registered permanent residence are in Tianfu New District can buy the apartment there. 2016年12月13日，北京，三家外卖公司外卖人员在等红灯。随着电商产业在中国的快速发展，互联网订餐成了非常普遍的行为。 Staffs of three food deliver companies waited the red light in Beijing on Nov. 13th 2016. The internet food deliver business is very popular as the Internet commercial developed quickly in China. 2017年8月15日，在北京望京SOHO前停了众多不同厂家的共享单车。共享单车从2016年起突然爆发，在方便人们出行的同时也造成了许多问题诸如资源浪费、阻碍交通。 Shared bikes of many companies parked before Wangjing SOHO in Beijing on Aug. 15th, 2017. The number of shared bike has out of control since 2016, it has caused many problems such as wasting resources and blocking the traffic though it is convenient to people. 2018年3月20日，一辆停在北京的外地汽车放着过期的进京证。 A car parking along the street in Beijing with an invalid license on Oct. 23rd, 2017. To limit the cars in Beijing, the car of other provinces should apply for a license to inter Beijing. The valid time of the license usually less than 10 days. The shed is for people who want to deliver their copy of residence booklet to have a lottery for buying apartment. The price of apartment in Chengdu has risen about 100% from 2016 to 2017. The government has taken strict measures to control the price. Those whose registered permanent residence are in Chengdu can have a lottery for buying apartment. The board written, it's the mainstream way of entertainment in 21st century. It perfectly combine simulated hi-tech with media technology. It is a brand new means of entertainment which use digital simulation, 4D digital remote control animation and Hi-Fi system. It can combine time and scene in a very short time. 2017年2月3日，市民在成都人民公园内划船。 People rolled boats at the Renmin Park in Chengdu on Feb. 3rd, 2017. 2016年9月11日，成都人民公园相亲角中排放着各式各样的相亲信息。“相亲角”是成都市民在人民公园自行组织形成的一块区域。这里相亲的人从丧偶的高龄男女到二十出头的青年男女。 Many kinds of personal information for marriage at the Renmin Park in Chengdu on Sep. 11th, 2016. Marriage Corner is a place that people form spontaneously. All kinds of people can show their information from old who lost there mate to teenagers who just in their 20s. 2013年5月19日，浙江大学正在举办集体婚礼。集体婚礼这几年成为一种流行的婚庆形式被用于商业、公益等多种场合。 A group wedding held at Zhejiang University on May 5th, 2013. Group wedding is now a popular activity in commercial and public benefit occasion in China. 2017年6月27日，游客在浙江横店影视城排队拍“皇帝照”，每人100元拍三张，不能拷贝电子版本。 Tourists lining up to take pictures in emperor’s costume at Hengdian World Studios in Zhejiang on Jun. 27th, 2017.
