Luyi County of Henan Province is home to more than 300 makeup brush manufacturers and over 1,000 supporting businesses. The county produces 150 million sets of mid- to high-end makeup brushes annually, generating over 13 billion yuan (about 1.8 billion U.S. dollars) in sales. It processes and supplies around 85% of the world’s synthetic hair used in makeup brushes and accounts for 80% to 90% of global brush production. Leveraging cross-border e-commerce platforms, Luyi’s products are now sold in more than 20 countries and regions.
